A road trip through winter Iceland, an extraordinary and fascinating land where fire meets ice. This comprehensive itinerary is designed to immerse you in breathtaking landscapes, unique natural phenomena and authentic places, travelling across the island from the south to the west and as far as the East Fjords.
Day 1: Arrival in Reykjavík
Arrival at Keflavík Airport, car collection and transfer to Reykjavík.
Check-in and free time to explore Iceland’s capital, including its historic centre and waterfront.
Day 2: Golden Circle
Full day dedicated to the famous Golden Circle:
Þingvellir National Park, the Geysir geothermal area and the powerful Gullfoss waterfall.

Rientro a ReykjaReturn to Reykjavík and visit of the city’s main attractions.
Day 3: Domestic Flight to Egilsstaðir
Transfer to Reykjavík Airport, domestic flight to Egilsstaðir and collection of a new rental car.
Explore the surrounding area and visit Fardagafoss waterfall.
Day 4: East Fjords and Höfn
Scenic drive along the East Fjords, passing coastal landscapes and small fishing villages.
Arrival in Höfn, overlooking vast glacial tongues.
Day 5: Glacier Lagoons and Skaftafell
Visit the spectacular Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach.
Continue to Skaftafell National Park, with the opportunity to join guided glacier excursions.
Day 6: Ice Caves and Vík
Join an organised tour of the Katla Ice Cave.
Visit Reynisfjara’s famous black sand beach and its dramatic sea stacks. Overnight stay in Vík.
Day 7: Iconic Waterfalls
Visit the famous Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls, among the most spectacular in Iceland.
Day 8: Relaxation and Nature
Enjoy a relaxing day at Laugarás Lagoon.
Overnight stay in the Borgarnes area.
Day 9: Snæfellsnes Peninsula
Explore the peninsula often described as “Iceland in Miniature”.
Including Snæfellsjökull, Kirkjufell Mountain and picturesque fishing villages.
Day 10: Snæfellsnes and Akranes
Final panoramic visits across the peninsula before continuing towards Akranes.
Day 11: Free Day
A day at leisure, ideal for relaxing or further exploring the surrounding area.
Day 12: Return to Italy
Explore the Reykjanes Peninsula, including the Bridge Between Continents, geothermal areas and a stop at the Blue Lagoon. Return the rental car and board your flight home.
