Day 1: Arrival in Lisbon

Arrival at Lisbon Airport on a flight from Milan Linate. Transfer to the hotel, check-in and first introduction to the city.

Afternoon stroll through Praça do Comércio, Rua Augusta and Rossio, the vibrant heart of the Portuguese capital.

Free dinner.

 

Day 2: Authentic Lisbon

A full day dedicated to discovering Alfama, Lisbon’s oldest neighbourhood.

Visit the Sé Cathedral, wander through historic alleys and enjoy panoramic viewpoints at Santa Luzia and Portas do Sol.

In the afternoon, visit São Jorge Castle for spectacular views over the city and the Tagus River.

Evening at leisure in Bairro Alto.

 

Day 3: Belém and Culture

Morning visit to Belém, including the Jerónimos Monastery, a masterpiece of Manueline architecture, followed by a walk to the Belém Tower (external visit).

Taste the famous Pastéis de Belém.

Visit National Museum of Ancient Art in the afternoon.

 

Day 4: Lisbon’s Museums and Local Life

Visit the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum and the evocative ruins of the Carmo Convent.

In the afternoon, ride the iconic Tram 28 through the city’s historic districts.

Free time at Mercado da Ribeira (Time Out Market).

 

Day 5: Sintra and Cascais

Collect the rental car and depart for Sintra. Visit Pena Palace, one of Portugal’s most iconic landmarks, and the National Palace of Sintra.

Afternoon stop in Cascais, an elegant seaside town overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

Day 6: Towards the Algarve

Journey south to the Algarve and accommodation in Albufeira.

Free time to relax.

 

Day 7: Lagos

Explore the historic centre of Lagos, with its ancient walls, cobbled streets and ocean views.

Day 8: Benagil Caves

A 2.5-hour boat excursion along the coast to visit the famous Benagil Sea Cave, with the possibility of spotting dolphins.

 

Day 9: Tavira Island

Independent excursion to Tavira and ferry crossing to Tavira Island, with free time for swimming and relaxation.

 

Day 10: Free Day

A day at leisure to explore more of the Algarve or simply enjoy the beaches and sea.

 

Day 11: Sagres and the Vicentine Coast

Departure towards the spectacular Vicentine Coast.

Visit Sagres, Cape St. Vincent, known as the “End of the World” of Europe, and the wild Atlantic beaches within the natural park.

Overnight stay in Vila Nova de Milfontes.

 

Day 12: Arrábida and Return to Lisbon

Stop in Setúbal and visit the Mercado do Livramento.

Scenic drive through the Arrábida Natural Park, where mountains meet the sea.

Return to Lisbon for overnight accommodation.

 

Day 13: Modern Lisbon

Visit Parque das Nações, Lisbon’s contemporary district, and explore the Lisbon Oceanarium.

 

Day 14: Return to Italy

Free time before transfer to the airport, rental car drop-off and return flight to Milan Linate.
